Skookumchuk trailhead to OBP/Falling Waters trailhead - by bike?

I did a loop hike up greenleaf trail and down skook with a bike spot at skook trailhead. The bike trail had more uphill than I expected at the end of the day, but I survived.

    Dry River Wilderness campsites

I recall seeing a campsite sign on the Dry River Cut Off trail near the river crossing or near the TH of the Eisenhower trail.

    Veteran's Day hike 11/11

I'm interested, depending on weather. No preference on peaks, but probably not too far north. I'm in central NH, so I can meet at TH or en route. I hope your entertainment is more than sporadic.

    Hike planning advice for Whiteface

Get a navigator/map reader to go along. There are several turnoffs on route, and the road is much longer ( slower ) that it looks.

    Dog Boots

I've used Bark n Boots with some success. Once on, the dog doesn't seem to mind at all. I have to readjust them frequently ( maybe the wrong size? ).

    Mt. Moriah, opinions/comments

I did the exact hike your are pondering ( up Stoney Brook ) for the same reasons. The extra weight of an overnight pack and arriving early at the shelter. I left the trailhead at 10:30AM, arrived at Imp shelter around 1-1:30PM, and unloaded my pack. I took a short break, then left for Moriah...

    Mount Isolation

I was there Sep 8. The Davis Path sign is on your right as you travel southbound. Approx 30-50 feet beyond the sign, the spur trail ascends abruptly on your right. It is quite obvious plus someone had laid out a triangle of small rocks ( not exactly a cairn ) at the base of the trail. The...

    The bonds

Why not overnight? I did this up North Twin over to Guyot shelter for day 1. Day 2 was early AM hike down to Bondcliff (excellent views with peaks above the early AM fog), then back to the shelter for short rest and food break, then back out via North Twin. I was solo, so I had no car spot...

    Isolation 9/8-9/9

Started on the Crawford path at 8:40AM, myself and trusted canine companion. It's a nice easy route, but surely shows the signs of heavy use. Arrived at Mizpah hut at 10:10 for water and a short food break, then headed down into the Dry River Valley by way of Dry River Cutoff trail. The trail is...

    cab/shuttle service from Gorham

Try Arthur Jolin, phone 466 2127. Very reasonable. He has a "suggested" price of $20-$30 per hour which can be negotiated.

Do Tevas give you good stability in a moving stream? I've got "slip-aphobia".

    Water shoes

Any reccommendations for water shoes? Good grip on slippery rocks, lightweight, and cheap.

    Water on Davis Path

I'm planning to hike Davis path to Isolation later this week. Does anyone know the status of available water. I'll probably overnight at Resolution shelter, then do Iso and back out the following day. What about the spring that is mentioned in the AMC book. Is it running and easy to find?

    Confusing Tripyramids sign

I was attempting to climb up the North Slide trail and make the loop on Monday. At the first junction of the Livermore trail and the Tripyramid loop there's a new USFS sign. All the arrows point right including one that says Livermore trail. So we went right and ended up ascending the South...

Anyone been on the Ammo trail recently? I've never done it and wondering what the conditions might be like tomorrow ( ice, river crossings, etc. ). Thinking of going up Ammo and down Jewell.
