Are there any companies/individuals who will shuttle hikers between Gorham and the AT (Rattle River trailhead)? What do they charge?

When I stopped at Camp Dodge to try calling a cab during my Carter/Wildcat hitchhike fiasco, there didn't seem to be taxicab companies out of Gorham/Berlin in the phone book.

Try Arthur Jolin, phone 466 2127. Very reasonable. He has a "suggested" price of $20-$30 per hour which can be negotiated.

Hi.

http://www.theshuttleconnection.com/about.html provided me and a friend transport from Crawford to Franconia for about $50 (for two). They're based at the Franconia end, I think, so I would expect Gorham to be a bit steeper rather than cheaper. Several discussions can be found here by searching on these terms.

Never did get to try any of these... I did find the # for Ez Taxi in Berlin (752-4696), I had called them & they quoted me about $13 for them to drive to the Rattle River trailhead, but I ended up not trying to get a shuttle. If I do in the future, I will post comments here.

if you stay in the hostel at hiker's paradise, i believe bruno (not me, the other, legandary, bruno!) will take you. check. but he hooked me up to appalachia trailhead for a solo traverse one time when i left my whip at crawford notch.

Bruno at Hikers Paradise is out of the shuttle buisiness and has been for awhile. EZ taxi out of Berlin is fairly reliable fom a few reports I have heard. There is also a local shuttle bus between Berlin and Gorham that may be of limited value.
