There is a very nice parking area / trail head at the end of Randolph Hill Rd. A trail "New Trail" leaves here and connects with Mt. Crescent Trail and Cook Path. The Carlton Brook Trail also leaves from here. I visited Sunday January 17th, and it had been plowed. There is room for 15- 20 cars.

The AMC website has posted that this shelter is in the process of being removed. I was not able to find information on it on the WMNF site. I know this shelter has been in poor shape for some time, and is in a Wilderness area. The post does say they are creating tent pads in the area. FYI...
