I did a quick hike up Hale this morning, enjoying a little taste of winter from the trailhead to the summit and back. Thought I'd share a few photos.

Early in the hike near the trailhead:

Mmm, the snow is mouth-watering. Did you use any traction? I assume it was not deep enough for shoes.
 
Not deep enough to need traction, although I did have the microspikes with me.
 
Summerset, I just posted a comment on your BLOG which stated that you should post your terrific reports on VFTT. Whoops! I now see that you've already done that!:D

Anyway, as I also stated on your Blog, your photos beautifully capture the overall ambiance and enchantment of late autumn/early winter in New England! Good job!
 
Thanks for posting. I'm glad I checked out your report last night; it influenced our footwear choices for today's hike (Hancocks) very helpfully.

Looks like you had a nice day (as did we).
