What do you do when you only have 2 hours to get a hike in & you're in Franconia? Why head for Coppermine Trail & that's what I did. I took Spike the Wonder Dog on her first "winter" hike in the Whites. She was more than up to the task. The trail up to Bridal Veil Falls was bare bootable althought snowshoes might have been helpful (but not necessary) the last 1/2 mile. Easy hike, total time less than 2 hours, sun for most of the hike as I started late (4:30). Got to love this time of the year. I'll have to come back in the Spring when the Falls are unfrozen to take in the sights.
