June 20, 2010. Bald Mtn trail from the east trailhead to West Ridge Trail is in excellent shape, well-marked and easy to follow. West Ridge trail to AT/LT and Glastenbury Mtn is likewise in excellent shape, the treadway is comfortable and easy to follow.

Bald Mtn trail to the west trailhead (locally also called the White Rocks trail) is fortunately well-marked, because where it cuts through large areas of cobbles it would be hard to follow without well-placed blazes.

Of the 21.6 miles of trail hiked, all are in excellent shape and well-marked. I might recommend going up from the west trailhead and descending to the east (we did it in the other direction) because going up on the loose rocks is a bit easier than descending.

We intended to stay at Goddard Shelter, but left Harbor Rd at 8:30, were at the top by 1:00, napped for 30 minutes and reached the west trailhead by 6:00. The foot of this last stretch of trail has been somewhat re-routed to accommodate a section of the Bennington bypass. Fourteen other hikers seen this day.
