Two of us headed out Sunday a.m. with the snowshoes in hopes of breaking trail and we got our wish on the Black Pond Trail. The Wilderness Trail was a mess - signage posted instructing skiers to stay to the sides and hikers to take the middle but somehow this confused folks. We did our best to stay off the ski tracks but since they were everywhere we just chose a side and gave them the middle. There's a pretty solid ski track laid out for much of the trail.
Black Pond not touched so we had a blast breaking that trail to the pond itself. Nice mid-morning lunch in the sunshine before the quick hike back and out. Beautiful blue-bird skies and incredible green rushing water on the Pemi.
