Hi All!
My north face boots are officially dead: They ain't waterproof no more with the big gaping hole in the vibram sole...so I've been eyeing a pair of Scarpa SL M3 (these babies). They seem very rugged. I haven't been to the store yet...I've been mostly trying to justify the expense (investment? :) ) I was wondering if anyone on VFTT has a pair and if they were satisfied with them?

Thanks!

David

Yes, I've had them for a few years now. They're a little heavy, but once used to them you should be fine. Good support also. Not much of a break in, my first time wearing them was an ADK High Peaks 15-miler. Not bad with crampons either and fairly warm in winter.

I've since got a set of Sole Footbeds for a little added arch support.

Vibram soles give good traction in mud. I've got over 200 miles and the soles still look and grip really good.

I use Nixwax after every couple of hikes to keep them soft and looking new.

If I was looking, I'd buy them again.
