Trail ConditionsU]:
Caps Ridge-- in excellent condition
Link to Castles --A pretty trail right after leaving Caps Ridge Tr
then VERY Tedious ...slippery roots & rocks due to humidity
Castles --beautiful as described in guide & pretty well marked
Special Equipment:
Lighter packs
Poles on the Link Trail but NOT on Castles &/or Caps Ridge
Longer Legs
Comments:
The Link was everything it was described to be in the WMGuide
but the time said 55 minutes & it took us longer 1:25
due to the humid rocks & roots
It ws mentally exhausting !
The Castles were beautiful & exciting but do NOT have on a heavy pack !
also, being 5'1" tall even tho I have good strong upper body strength
I actually could not find a foot hold on one of the rock walls that needed to be climbed &
actually needed a 'boost'
for the 1st time in our 19 years of hiking together
