Trail Conditions have largely been replaced by specialized sites which do a much better job at categorizing, search, sorting, etc. trail conditions.
Trip Reports have largeley been repalced by Facebook / Instagram since most people just want pictures anyway.

not to be too much of a noodge . . . but could anyone suggest a day hike forum ? i'm too naïve to be more specific, but as i gain experience will try to hone my interests. thanks

Do you mean specifically for Rhode Island day hikes?

One of the VFTT members runs New England Trail Conditions. It is easier to enter a hike, no cutting and pasting required

sure; tons of places on the coast - the land trusts seem to be working hard - and then following Ken Weber's books all around.

or not. knowledge is cumulative - so whatever is helpful being gleaned from posts here & there.
