Date of Hike: 28June2008
Trail Conditions: A few small spots of mud on the lower parts of Liberty Spring and Flume Slide. Flume Slide rock faces were also moist and given to slippery footing. Likely due to the 0.25"-0.50" of rain in the previous 24 hours. Brook crossings on Flume Slide were doable without getting boots wet.
Special Equipment Required: One member of the party would have liked to have used hiking poles for the brook crossings.
Comments: Interesting beginning to our hike due to Fish & Game-coordinated search and rescue in the immediate vicinity. Despite cloudy views, summits of both Flume and Liberty had 10-15 people on top. I suppose par for the course on a summer Saturday in the Whites. No bugs.
