Five or Six years ago I started hiking with my two kids. We started
with small mt in Quebec and at that time Stephanie was 6 year old,
Mathieu was 5. In 2005 my ex-wife told me why don't you bring the
kids hiking in the NE with you. So I book a 3 day trip at Greenleaf hut
and I hike with the kids to the hut. It was a long and tough hike for
them to reach the hut (more than 3 hours for 2.9 miles).
The day after we went on the summit of Lafayette in the fog. It was
their first 4000K. At the summit the sky clear itself so we went for
Lincoln and we return to the hut. The next day we went to Lafayette and
play on the ridge. On the 3rd day we hike down.

After that hike we went more often hiking. Two weeks after we went
to Mt Mansfield in Vermont. We skip the summit and went eating our lunch
at the ski building. At that time we where not thinking about any list of
mountain.

Two weeks after with my friend Robert (mountain Eagle) we went
hiking with our kids (Stephanie,Mathieu,Marc-Antoine). We decided to hike
one very tough mt to see how strong the kids are. So we went for Giant
mt and we reach the summit in the fog. The 3 kids went down so fast
that it was hard to follow them. That was their last 4000k of the year
2005.

After the last day of school 2005-2006 I bring the kids hiking and we
sleep at ADK loj. What a bad night we had with the noise in the bunk
room. The next day we went for Algonquin and reach the summit and
return to ADK loj safe and in one peace. In july 2006 we went hiking
in NH with Robert and Marc-Antoine.

On july 8 we summit mt washington and they all where very happy. To
avoid some possible injury we went down by the cog train. My son tell me
that next year he will be abble to hike to the summit and go down. 3 days
after we hike Garfield.

From August to November I bring them hiking with me to help me reach
my goal (NE 115 in one year). So we hike together: Camelump,Ellen,Abraham,
Kellington,Mansfield,Old Speck,Tecumse,Hale,Porter.

From december 2006 to March 2007 we done some downhill ski to kept
in shape.

In 2007 we started the year with a backpack on March 26 (cold night)
and summit Phelp in the daks. On every two weekend we went hiking in
the daks and hike: Cascade,Wright,Colden,Marcy. In july 2007 again we
went in vacation with Robert and Marc-Antoine. This time we had plan
one 6 days backpack in the daks. We manage to hike: Street,Nye,Marshall,
Tabbletop,Redfield. The best vacation in many year!!!

After that backpack they took a 3 weeks vacation from hiking. In August
2007 we went hiking in NH for 4 days in a row. The first day we hike
Cannon and had lots of fun going down by the ski trail. The next days we
return to Greenleaf hut (Stephanie reach the hut in lest than 2 hours).
The day after we had our best hike ever (hut-Lafayette-Lincoln-Liberty-flume
and return to the hut). They where very proud to had summit 7 peaks in
the day.

On labor weekend we went hiking in Maine and hike Sugarloaf (ski station)
and the Biggelow(Avery-West peak). Sunday of this weekend we went to
Mt Ellen (Stephanie had not done it in 2006).

After all of those hike they now had done:

Stephanie: 30 peaks (daks 13, Green 4, NH 9, Maine 4)
Mathieu: 31 peaks (+ Kellington)

And next weekend we will go to Kellington so they both had 31 peaks.

We plan on finishing the NE 115 in about 3 years. :) :) :)

If you had some kids and want to have lots of fun in hiking join us.
