It was a beautiful warm day on this Good Friday...perfect for a day of hiking...except the melting 5 feet of snow that is. I'm sure everyone who hiked a virtually abandoned hiking trail went through the same thing today? Snowshoes at the trailhead, yes there is plenty of room for parking on the side of the road, the moose tracks (and poop) started immediately. No marks in the snow except moose tracks, they packed it down in a few areas. Other than that it was wet heavy slushy snow that made every step feel like hell. We left you all some very very deep tracks! If they freeze back up you will be golden, if it snows on top of them, even better, as long as it's not a butt load. If it gets warm again give this trail about a month to thaw and drain!
