Trail Conditions: 6-8 inches of snow in the Notch to 24-30 in places above 3500 feet. Nice light fluffy powder. Trail is broken out but somewhat unconsolidated due to barebooters and dryness of snow. Most of the smaller water crossings punched out..main one snowbridged but damaged. Ramp to the summit cone staring to form which made for easy ascent.. A few bend overs and a blowdowns up high.

Equipment : snowshoes seem the obvious choice but did run into a smirking barebooter today who declared it was nice that others packed out the trail so he could bare boot which was easier..seriously..he said that.....This must have been the grinch of Christmas past...

Comments: winter wonderland north of the notch..amazing amount of snow in places. Beautiful snow shoe conditions especially on descent which took less than an hour in the soft snow. 20 degrees with 30 mph wind fog and blowing snow on the summit limited time there. Very nice to chat with Donna and Ella along the way
