Lonesome Lake Trail is hard packed snow to the lake. On the lake it's packed, but a bit softer, especially by afternoon with strong sunshine. Fishin' Jimmy is packed well all the way to Kinsman Junction. It's certainly bare bootable up to this point, but snowshoes are useful for the steeps to gain traction and take advantage of the heel lifters.

It looked like a couple people had been over the KRT toward Cannon, but it's not to the same level of consolidation as Fishin Jimmy.

The KRT up to North Kinsman packed, but snowshoes are again useful. The Mt Kinsman Trail down toward Easton had seen no traffic since the last major snowfall. We went 100 ft. down this trail to check it out, and there's probably 8-12" of powder above the solid base below. It may improve below the windswept upper section, but we couldn't tell. From North Kinsman to South Kinsman the trail is a bit softer, but still well traveled.

Full, strong sunshine on Tuesday, with no wind whatsoever. Despite the 12 degree start, we were very warm all day when in the sun, even in just a techwick shirt and softshell pants. 6.5 hr roundtrip.
