Trail Conditions: Up the Davis Path was bare ground til around 2,00-2500 feet elevation, then there was quite a bit of snow/ice in the middle of the trail. After spending considerable time trying to avoid the snow/ice I decided to put on microspikes and just walk wherever. Once to the rock ledges bareboored to Mt. Crawford. Then on to the Stairs Col trail, it is pretty much all snow so I put the snowshoes on. If you don't stay on the tiny hard center there is lots of oppurtunities to posthole, and it is deep!!!. Snow shoes all the way to Resolution. We had planned on doing Mt. Stairs also but were worn out, we don't usually hike in the summer. Oh yeah, it's not summer.
Equipment: gaiters, microspikes, snowshoes, sunscreen, poles. Brook crossings were fine.
