Date of Hike: Sunday 1/27/08
Trail Conditions: Packed snow up to tree line then bare rocks the rest of the way. Some minor drifting here and there.
Special Equipment Required: Carried snowshoes but did not use them. Wore microspikes from tree line to Jefferson and back to the beginning of the trail. Poles were very helpful. No need for full crampons.
Comments: Peaks were in and out of the clouds with light winds most of the way, less than 25 mph. No views from Jefferson for me. On the way back from Jefferson I met one solo hiker above the junction of the Sphinx Trail and Gulfside. Also met two guys and gal on the Gulfside trail below Mt Clay. It was a great day to be out on the trail. My winter list is down to Zealand, and all the Bonds.
