Mt. Killington via Bucklin Trail
7/24/11
We accessed the Bucklin Trail via Wheelerville Rd. from the south (from Rutland) as a bridge is out on the northern end of Whellerville Rd. Large parking area.
The first portion of the Bucklin Trail is flat and a pleasant walk (about 45 min.). The trail then climbs steady and moderately up to the junct. of the LT/AT (about 1 hour). The last .2 up the summit spur trail is rocky and steep, but not too hard.
Fine views on the summit, which you'll share with folks who have come up the other side via gondola.
