Parked on 113A and up went up the Cabin Trail, which was dry no blow downs, came around a corner and met a cow moose with a calf. We were about 20 ft from each other. They went off into the woods.
Connected with the Whitin Trail and headed over to the Lawrence trail up Mt Paugus.
We are into to a short section of snow at about 3000 ft. It you picked your way you could stay on top.Less then a 1/4 mile in length.
Great views from Old Slag came.
Came down the Old Paugus trail, some minor blow downs nothing you can't get around or go under.
Crossed Whitin Brook up to Big Rock Cave and back out to the TH. We just beat the rain.
No bugs
A great hike with some EMT friends
