( Political comments removed by moderator - pls review site rules regarding political posts) My wife and I drove 65 miles one way to hike this great mountain. It was a steady, strong uphill without the nice switchbacks we saw on Lyon Mt. so we slowed our usual pace to keep from overheating in the crisp 37 degree air. The golden sun shining through the trees was a joy from start to finish. On the summit we climbed the tower as far as we dared since it seemed a bit unstable and enjoyed crystal clear mountain views. We were soon joined by three good men with whom we had a very nice chat. They were all 46rs and as we traded stories about our climbing experiences, they asked who our 46er Correspondents were. We were surprised when one of our three summit mates turned out to be Wayne’s 46rs Correspondent! We didn’t recognize him with the sunglasses and hat. Small world!

We needed the usual warmer clothes for the summit and took microspikes but didn't use them.
