Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge is now over 5,300 protected acres, with Big Cherry and Little Cherry Ponds, a nice network of trails, as well as being part of the Cohos Trail. Pondicherry is the old name for Cherry Ponds and nearby Cherry Mountain. Seen are over 230 species of birds, along with variety of mammals and spectacular views of the entire Presidential Mountain Range. We'll meet for a 9 am start in the parking lot (look for the binocular and viewing area sign) on Airport Road about 2.1 miles from Route 115 and 2 miles north of Lennon Road and the Cherry Mtn parking area. This is a very easy, level walk and is about 4 miles round trip or as long or short as the group wishes. Bring lunch, plenty of water, cameras and sunblock. An easy, simple way to see pristine nature, spectacular views, and make new friends or meet old ones! As always, kindly let me know if you are joining us.

Here's a map of how huge this refuge has grown since 2001. I try to go several times a year and often when I'm leaving photographers are arriving to catch the sunset and more!
