Precipice Trail, Acadia National Park

Just a shout out to anyone going up to Acadia National Park... the Precipice Trail up Champlain Mtn. is OPEN. Seems I'd wanted to do this trail forever and finally got the chance yesterday, August 12. It was wicked steep and FUN... (not so fun if you're acrophobic). A peregrine falcon was even sighted, and we got to view it through the ranger's telescope back in the parking lot. Cool.

August is not the ideal time to visit Acadia -- too many people -- but the Precipice Trail, perfect weather, a drive up Cadillac Mtn., and popovers & chowdah at the Jordon Pond House more than made up for the crowds.
