Rocky Branch from Jericho Rd off of 302 was overgrown and had several river crossing where your feet will get wet. Swampy sections with no trail work to keep you out of the mud. Rocky Branch Shelter 2 has holes in the roof and rotting floor boards but was still definitely a shelter from the weather. Isolation trail had some swampy sections especially just after the shelter. A false trail at one river crossing had us back tracking. It must have been an established bushwhack but the trail petered off so we went back and crossed river. River crossing on Isolation trail were not bad. Davis trail was being actively maintained as we hiked it (thanks to the group of 16 trail crew!!) so blow downs should be gone. Some swampy sections to get through with no bridges, but nothing major. We had dogs and they were able to find water on entire loop. Davis Mt. is definitely worth the hike. And here is hoping BuckyBall found the 'true' summit and made it home safely!
