Trail Conditions: East Royce in great shape. No snow, no blowdown. Connector needs brushing. Royce Trail to West Royce is a mess. It seems to have avoided maintenance for a long time. Like a bushwhack! Some snow (no real problem) in a couple of patches. One really bad blowdown that has been there long enough for a major herd path to develop around it (but still dicey). Herd path on East Royce from end of trail to true summit is in great shape. Laughing Lion on descent in good shape, except there is NO SIGN at junction with Royce Trail. Lots of leaves on trail made going slick in spots. Black flies OK except in the parking lot.
