So, with the new owners at WC, anybody know the protocol if I want to start hiking before the ticket window opens? I'm hoping to have boots on trail by 7 or so. Do I buy a ticket on the way down? Do I explain this to anyone who might question me?

I have no problem shelling out the 10 bucks, but it seems silly to buy a ticket (which I presumed was a consent of self-responsibility and waiver of liability) AFTER the fact.

Anybody?

Here is the discussion. In short, if you call and ask, they will tell you must have a pass in advance. You can get one as soon as they start selling them (30 minutes prior to the lifts operating, I believe) and head up immediately, do not have to wait for the lifts. Despite discussing this point, and the point of coming down late (as in coming from Imp via the Carters), it appears they do not want anyone on the slopes except during the the actual hours of operation.
