The high peaks area got quite a bit of rain this past week. The trail from the Loj to the Algonquin/Wright turnoff at .9 miles is muddy and wet in spots. The wood bridge over the brook just a few tenths of a mile from the trailhead has been fixed and doesn`t dip into the water, although the brook is very high and the water level comes almost right onto the bridge. The hardened trail from the turnoff to Wright/Algonquin is not as wet or muddy. The only caveat is to be aware of slippery roots. Gaiters might be preferred by some. Met two summit stewards on their way to Algonquin, they were very nice and friendly. VFFT on Wright were exceptional. Summit video can be seen here:
