Trail Conditions: Zealand Road gated at Rt. 302 but plowed the entire length to Zealand trailhead courtesy of the logging company. Zealand trail drifted in places but well packed out by end of the day. Twinway to Zeacliff in good shape except for few drifted places. Used alternate crossing of Whitewall Brook just beyond Zealand Hut. Twinway hard to follow just west of Zeacliff. Blowdowns and leaners on Twinway from Zeacliff to Zealand Mnt. with short detours.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes, light traction and poles helpful.

Comments: Optional - very cold day. Started at 6:40 am, -12 degrees, and barebooted the entire distance to Zealand Hut. Used MSR snowshoes on Twinway from hut to Zeacliff and Zealand Mnt. Side trail to Zealand Mnt marked with sign. But the side trail disappeared before reaching the true summit area. Bushwhacked the remaining distance. Kevin fell into a spruce trap. Used microspikes on the trip out from the Zealand hut. Back at parking lot at 5 pm. - 18.6 miles.
