Can someone give me info on this new trail? I read about it but doesn't give much more info than that. How long, how steep, approximate hiking time?

    Hadley Mt. 9/4/10

What a day!....All seasons, starting with a tee shirt and ended on top with a winter coat. Rained some, wind blew and herds and herds of people on the trail with their dogs. I saw every bread with every temperment. What a day in the mountains. Trails are in excellent condition with no...

    Bald Mtn. Firetower 3-6-10

Beautiful day for a long ride and a short hike. Nicely packed trail. I used snowshoes all the way. Great hike for families with small children. Spent the rest of the day at Mountainman in Old Forge shopping.....

    Buck Mt. 11/29

Trail conditions are great with a few muddy spots as usual. Leaves can be slippery when wet:eek: so poles for coming down would be helpful.

    Kane Mt Firetower 11/8

Great day for a short and enjoyable hike. Fallen leaves covered the trail so it was easy to get off track and easier to go ankle deep into the mud. The tower was much bigger than my last but made it to the top. Facing my fears ya know:eek:. No special equipment.

    Haystack #46 9-5-09 11:35 a.m.

Reached the Garden just in time. There were just three spots left. This turned out to be my lucky day all around:). Weather was perfect and I was ready to complete my 9 year journey. Left the parking lot at 5:50 reaching JBL at 7:15. By 9:30 I had reached Slant Rock and decided to take my...

    Buck Mt. 8/22/09

    Basin #44 Saddleback #45 8-13-09

My intent was to finish my 46's with HaBaSa but changed my mind (yes I'm a woman) at the intersection at Haystack and Basin. I always wanted to finish on Haystack and thought it would be nice to do it by itself, leaving enough time to celebrate and spent lots of time on the summit. Anyway we...

Trails in excellent condition. Never seen trails so dry. Was dreading Saddleback but not as bad as I anticipated. Equipment: Poles and maybe gloves. Didn't carry gloves but could see how they could be helpful.

    Gray #42---Skylight #43 6/19/09

Gray #42---Skylight #43 6/20/09 Trails are extremely muddy from Upper Works to Summits. Got pretty tired of puddle jumping, rock hopping and boot sucking  most of the weekend due to the rain from last week. I can't imagine doing these without gators or poles. Water is plentiful and...

Indian Head, Fish Hawk Cliffs 5/23

Trail conditions were great. Stopped briefly for pictures at Rainbow Falls. Only one small blowdown between Indian Head and Fish Hawk. Returned via Gill Brook where we realized just how bad the blackflies were. Stopped a few times but not for long. Water was much lower than I expected. Great...

    Sleeping Beauty Loop 5/16/09

Some muddy spots but common for this hike. Nice breeze kept the bugs away but when it wasn't blowing, I ate a few.... No special equipment needed. Conditions were great considering it's bug season. [email protected]
