Trail Conditions: Carried my snow shoes and crampons up and actually got to use my snow shoes. Broke trail from first summit to Dial and Nipple Top and returned via Elk Pass. Temperatures were in the low teens all day. Long day - started at 7:00 am and made it out of the woods about 8 pm.
Special Equipment Required: Winter gear - balaclava, snow goggles. Snow shoes and poles. If you plan on doing this route starting at Elk Pass you will definitely need crampons.
