Easy walk into the brook with a couple of icy spots...brook crossing was fine either by rock or log...trail continues long gradually ascent, 2-3 inches of snow gradually rising to 6-8 inch at rollins junction..Having prior history of the ice waterfalls from there to the old camp we donned the crampons which made the icy ascent easy and fun..removed crampons at old camp and barebooted to the base of the cone is 6 inches of snow..dropped pack at base and headed up...able to bareboot the climb but crampons would have made it easier...excellent views today under a high cloud deck
