lovely day to be in the mountains. Easy hike up via Bickford Brook trail, definitely needed foot traction of some sort. Right before putting my microspikes on, I did a great slip and fall on the ice and still have a huge butt bruise!! No need for snowshoes the whole day. Coming down Blueberry Ridge trail was treachorous. Could have used ropes/harnesses/ice axes and crampons due to the solid ice flow that was present on the trail! Instead, we went into the woods on either side of the trail and bushwacked it down.
The VFTT of Speckled were awesome! High clouds, so we could look at all the other peaks around!
