Excellent trail conditions through most of the day, although afternoon warming making mush on OBP above cliffs. FW trail solid, ice bridges okay for now. Ridge between Haystack and Lincoln mostly rock and some ice but between Lincoln and Layette there was more snow and ice. Crampons (or micro-spikes) are needed but I was able to bare boot up to Lincoln via FW trail with no issues in early am. I used micro-spikes for the rest of the trip over to Lafayette and down OBP with no problems. Brought snowshoes but never used them, no post-holing as long as you stayed on the trail.
