A trip to check out the damage done by Mt. Major Boulder Loop Trail fire.
Date of Hike: May 3, 2008
Trail Conditions: Ascent via Boulder Loop Trail dry (as dry as it gets on a rainy day). Trail beat up a bit (loose rock) by firefighting effort. Trail itself not burned at any point. Descent via Main Trail dicey on wet ledges. Very wet (but not a nuisance) near the trail head. No blowdowns.
Special Equipment Required: None. Poles useful for balance in wet areas.
Comments: If you get a chance, do go check out the fire damage before Mother Nature sprouts. It's very humbling. A few photos here: http://muh-n-duh.blogspot.com/2008/05/mt-major-fire.html
