Trail conditions: Very good except for a few muddy spots and two areas where water was running down the trail for about 20 yards. All the brooks, streams and rivers are running high and fast.
Special Equipment: None. No bugs, plenty of sunshine.
Comments: My 8th trip up Moosilauke and the first with 360 degree views! Some haze to the west and north but just beautiful up there. Coming up to the top of Gorge Brook the cinquefoil was in bloom, along with some yarrow and tiny red cranberries. New, to me anyway, were the bright orange painted signs at the summit! An added bonus was that I had the summit all to myself for the 20 minutes I spent there. What a treat! Met lots of folks coming up as I went down Carriage Road.
A good day out for Finn (the dog) and me.
