Love hiking the Crawford Path, so much history (168 years)
& such nice easy grades.
The vegetation between Pierce & Eisenhower is amazing
I could spend hours there re-living & imagining the history of the people & horses who journeyed before us.

We trekked up to treeline from the Highland Center and were rewarded with Blue~blue skies,
minimal humdiity & a mild, gentle breeze.

The view over to Pleasant Dome from this intersection with the Webster-Cliff Tr. is so enticing because you can see the Crawford Path continuing to twist & turn & wind its way up to the summit.
You can sometimes catch a glimpse of a hiker on The Path.

We decided to take The Path east around the base of Eisenhower's cone [never before traveled on by us]
A real Nice close-up view of Monroe & Washington & Montalban Ridge from this little traveled section of trail.
Also a cool perspective looking UP to the Dome from below.

At the intersection with Edmands we headed up to the Dome summit
to partake in the 360 degree views ~~ & lunch ~~the best part of the hike!
We could see for MILES!!
No fleece needed as the gentle breeze continued even on the notoriously
usually windswept summit
Then down the other side to once again re-join the Crawford Path.

On to Mt. Clinton to check out "where we been"
then down to Mizpah Springs Hut & back out on Crawford Path.

Great hike!
10.4 Miles

Gratifying, Satisfying

Beautiful Day!!
