LT from Lincoln Gap to Ellen is essentially completely free of snow. Only a few square feet of snow coverage seen over the course of 6+ miles. Trails in very nice condition, only a few muddy spots here and there but generally not very deep or long. Plenty of rocks and uneven footing but that's a horse of a different color. Trail free of blowdowns until somewhere around the midpoint of the ridge walk between Abraham and Ellen. Probably a good half dozen blowdowns from there to Ellen, some appear to have been there for some time but generally they could be crawled under without much trouble.

No special equipment necessary. First spring hike without any winter equipment! Nice to have that extra bounce in my steps without the extra weight. I wore gaiters but for this hike they were a bit over the top.
