Trail conditions: Bucklin Trail was a sheet of ice covered by a couple of inches of snow-- ranging from about one to three inches in all. Easy to follow and no blowdowns to speak of. I was able to bareboot for the first two miles (Cumulus used microspikes,) then we switched to snowshoes for better traction on the steeps. Long Trail also had a couple of inches of snow, a little trickier to follow with the white blazes, but it didn't really present a lot of difficulty. Killington Spur had drifted in, but is now broken out-- you will definitely want snowshoes with good traction for this part.
Equipment: Snowshoes for upper portion of the trail... you may want crampons for descending the spur, though we managed in snowshoes okay.
Comments: My first time on the Bucklin Trail.... was surprised about how pretty it was! Beautiful day with blue skies but a little brisk! Sledding was okay-- fast but very bumpy.
