Melrose, MA; Avatar: Prepping for my first 12 hour
I'm planning a trip up near Dixville Notch in the next few weeks, is there any place to stay other than the Balsams? Maybe a quaint B&B or something? If you're wondering how this is outdoor related, from there we're doing a kayak overnight on Lake Umbagog...

There are two motels that I remember on the road (Rt. 16)? from Colebrook to the Balsams. The first is on the left less than a mile from Colebrook, and the second is on the right about 6 miles in. Sorry I can't remember the names of them, it's been 10+ years since I've been up there. Hope this helps.....
