Climbed all 5 on Saturday. Started at Elk Lake. Went from Macomb to South to East, back to South, then to Hough and Dix. Out just before dark. Despite a dicey forecast, the weather was perfect (cool, windy, and dry). The trails and herd paths are all in excellent shape. Muddy in a few places as always but overall, remarkably dry for the Adirondacks. No ice and just a few patches of snow at the highest points. Best of all, not a bug to be seen. Felt like a day sliced out of mid-October.
