Date of Hike: 6/19/2010
Trail Conditions: Some mud down low mostly, but nothing noteworthy. The 1 major stream crossing was a breeze, and the water therein tasted good. No blowdowns, the trail crew has done a great job clearing all debris this year.
Special Equipment Required: DEET but only around the wet parts, the blackflies were mercifully absent for the latter 2/3 of the climb up.
Comments: We encountered 1 very territorial partridge near the bottom who would NOT let us pass. It ruffled its feathers up to look bigger, charged us and hissed! I had no idea birds could hiss! A bit of careful tiptoeing around was necessary. It wasn't there on the way down.
