The storm on January 11 dumped at least 15 inches on the area. Al, Carl and I set out at a leisurely 8 am from the Loj to hike these peaks, figuring that 3 days would be plenty of time for the route to be broken out.

Boy were we wrong. Once we left the beaten path, we were on virgin snow. We followed the unmarked trail for the most part, but around the beaver pond we completely lost it, and wound up crossing the dam itself. We corrected our mistake on the way out.

Eventually starting to climb, and the snow getting deeper, crawling under, over and around multiple blowdowns. It seemed we spent a lot of time on our bellies crawling under trees.

Made it to the col around noon, took a quick breather, then headed for Street. The "tunnel" through a 10 foot wall of snow behind spruces was amazing. Working our way to the summit, found the disc, took photos, admired the limited view, and retraced to the col.

Bagging Nye was quick work, and now to get out of here. We found the trail for the spots we had missed on the way up, so following hikers (none today) should have an easier time. Made it back to the parking lot just before dark, 9 hours, 8 miles, and three tired puppies.
