I ran into Alan Lowe (of Lowe's garage in Randolph) at lunch today, he mentioned the moose were starting to move out to the roads in the north country. He almost hit one on RT 115 in Jefferson the other night. I dont see any activity at the moose wallow at the end of my road in Gorham, but I expect the moose will be back soon.

The best advice is slow down as they can be real difficult to see and their typical response to danger is to stand there and take on the challenge head on.

I've seen 2 in the last two days (separate occasions) on US3, about 2 miles north of the intersection called 5 Corners (north of Gale River Rd). One was a big bull who came down the bank suddenly and lunged across the road, the other (this morning) was a youngish yearling, wandering southbound on the shoulder in the same general area as the bull.

They're definitely out & about.
