Hit the road Friday after wife came home from work, 2 hour drive to Gateway Motel in Medway. Then up at 4am for the long drive on Tote Road in BSP. Followed someone who was sight seeing at 10 mph for several miles:(
Arrived at the Marston trail head at 8 am. Trail was wet most of the way up to N Brother. Around the pond it was boot sucking mud everywhere. In the flat section above the pond it was dry and we made good time here. The Mt Coe Trail heading up to N Brother was very wet, with water running down it especially where its steep and eroded 3 feet down. After reaching N Brother Sherry's knee was hurting, but after resting, she was game for bushwhacking. Getting on the herd path was easy, we followed the cairns to the left of summit, but after the cairns you really have to watch your feet most of the way to stay on it. The spruce is very thick, with plenty of blowdowns to get around. Once on Fort we were going to take a break and relax, but mother nature had a different plan. Soon after getting there we could see dark clouds and rain falling, it was heading our way fast  So we packed up quickly, and what seemed to be running through the herd path in the storm we made it in record time back to N Brother. Then just as quick as it started, the sky cleared and the sun came out between the dark clouds. This was our 2nd attempt at Fort, the 1st time (2007) I left my long pants in the car, and had to turn back a short ways into the bushwhack. This makes #97 for us :D
