Stratton Mtn via the Long Trail from Stratton Arlington Rd

Date of Hike: 6-1-13

Trail Conditions: Trails in good shape. Some minor avoidable patches of mud. Larger patches of mud still weren't bad with some stepping stones or wood to walk on. Multiple small brook crossings down low that are easy. A handful of step over trees with the highest being almost knee level. One slight duck under that has the branches trimmed to help

Special Equipment Required: Water and dry shirt

Comments: A hot and humid day for a hike. That's why I started early and choose an easier hike. This hike was pretty gentle with the most difficult part being the weather. Plenty of fluid needed, but there is also a spring shortly before the summit. Wasn't happy to see smoke coming out of a fire place at the camp site at the trail head. After a hot dry week, why wouldn't you walk the 300 feet to the river to get water to put on it?
