I am looking to go backpacking during the last week of April.
Any suggestions for a good loop in the Adirondacks?. Maximum of 10 miles a day

Thanks!

How about the Cranberry Lake 50? Sounds like a perfect choice for you.

There are lots and lots of other options, though. They would just require a little more make-your-own-loop planning.

What things in particular are you looking for with the trip? Are you looking to get up high or just out? Trying to avoid snow?

I also highly recommend the Cranberry Lake 50. It's a little bit different an experience than what you'd find in the High Peaks.

You might also try a section of the Northville-Placid Trail, either the West Canada Lakes section or the Long Lake/Cold River section.

The Pharaoh Lakes wilderness might also be a good bet, you've got several options for loops there, however your daily distance on a 5 day trip might be less. There are plenty of lean-tos on lakes and ponds though to spend warm sunny afternoons hanging out, so this could be a good thing. :)
