New Hiking website based in Portland, OR

Nope, all I had to do was include the URL of the animated gif and the key gif. No more to it. It automatically links right back to the web site. I was sure to leave the Copyright in there just in case. I was actually surprised with how easy it was to do.

Reflecting on my trip to Mt. Jefferson

Here's a few pics from this weekends trip. I only stayed one night, but it was worth it. Notice anything odd about the first pic? Full Album: http://jeffandjean.smugmug.com/gallery/869520

    Sunset Photo

This was taken just last night on a 3 day backpacking trip, cut short by a badly twisted knee. This is the only pic I have uploaded so far. Mink Lake in Central Oregon - about 15 miles from the closest road.

Suggestions to lighten my food weight

Wow! I didn't expect so much interest in my question. So now all I need to do is get a zip loc bag and pour in some oatmeal, rice, peanuts, ramen noodles, olive oil and some tuna. :p Actually all the ideas sound doable, I will need to make a trip to the grocery store and see what I come up...

Suggestions to lighten my food weight

Hello all, I leave this weekend for a 5-day, approx 44 mile trip by myself. Will be staying at 3 different sites, assuming I'm able to stick with my plan. Normally I would bring coffee and bagles with PB for breakfast, possibly even lunch. Some jerky for snacks along with 1 to 2 Powerbars for...

Insulmat Max-thermo or Big Agnes Air Core

I have the non-insulated version of the Big Agnes and absolutely love it. It takes little time and effort to blow it up. Backpacking boot question.

Another one to consider is the Vasque Sundowner Summit GTX. I first tried the Asolo, but they just didn't have the traction that I was accustomed to. So far I love the Sundowner's...
