Yup, sloppy but fun! I did the 6.3 mile NEMBA loop and definitely prepare to be ankle deep in mud in some places, but it's very loose, watery mud. As Audrey mentioned there are a lot of frost heaves but for the most part it was a fun run today. The light layer of snow we go this morning made...
I live about a mile from the Fells. Last Monday (15th) I mountain biked the NEMBA loop (the mtb loop you spoke of) and while there a few patches that were too slick to ride most of the snow was packed on the fire roads and at trail intersections (and it was mostly rideable) while almost all of...
Well, with the rain goes my backcountry ski adventure plans for this weekend. The upside is that the trails here in the Boston area are going to be primo for trail running and mountain biking as soon as they dry out!
Thanks for all the responses. The way tomorrow's storm is setting up it's looking like we're going to want to get into the good stuff we're going to have to go north and west! Most of MA will probably get rain out of this next one...and who needs that?
Cheers..
So it looks like ground zero for these two storms we're getting will be western Mass and NH and all of VT.
Anyone have a recommendation for a good half day or day long ski tour? My set up is a free heel on Karhu 10th Mtns so I'm not looking for any huge climbs but some climbing and...
Sorry should have clarified. No need to be from NH and it is way more fun than trolling the lot at the local high school or church...and way less expensive. The trees are more of the Charlie Brown variety, but they have character and you have the best story to tell all your friends. Everyone...
Didn't see much on the conditions page so thought I'd ask. We're heading up to cut down our Xmas tree in the WMNF tomorrow, specifically along the Kanc and I was wondering how that area fared during the 'corker' this week. Snowshoes a must for good tree hunting?
As an aside if you have not...
Started as rain here in Melrose, got about an inch of snow and now it's back to rain. I can take it because it's dumping up north...we'll get ours hopefully next month!
