    What happened to Bergelene?

Wool, SmartWool. I'll take mine in Lightweight NTS. Nothing beats it. Even in the summer.

    Greeley Ponds

Does anyone have beta on Greeley Ponds? How's the skiing? Were they in the 'kill zone' from the big snow?

    Middlesex Fells?

Yup, sloppy but fun! I did the 6.3 mile NEMBA loop and definitely prepare to be ankle deep in mud in some places, but it's very loose, watery mud. As Audrey mentioned there are a lot of frost heaves but for the most part it was a fun run today. The light layer of snow we go this morning made...

    Middlesex Fells?

I'm heading back over later this morning or this afternoon to run the NEMBA loop. Will post upon return...

    Middlesex Fells?

I live about a mile from the Fells. Last Monday (15th) I mountain biked the NEMBA loop (the mtb loop you spoke of) and while there a few patches that were too slick to ride most of the snow was packed on the fire roads and at trail intersections (and it was mostly rideable) while almost all of...

    Ok, I'll do it... BIG SNOW STORM(s) 2/17, 2/19!

@Mattl The plan was to avoid the longer drive and head into western MA or sw NH. But, maybe the longer drive should be put back on the docket!

    Ok, I'll do it... BIG SNOW STORM(s) 2/17, 2/19!

Well, with the rain goes my backcountry ski adventure plans for this weekend. The upside is that the trails here in the Boston area are going to be primo for trail running and mountain biking as soon as they dry out!

Ski Touring in Western Mass or Southern VT

Thanks for all the responses. The way tomorrow's storm is setting up it's looking like we're going to want to get into the good stuff we're going to have to go north and west! Most of MA will probably get rain out of this next one...and who needs that? Cheers..

Ski Touring in Western Mass or Southern VT

So it looks like ground zero for these two storms we're getting will be western Mass and NH and all of VT. Anyone have a recommendation for a good half day or day long ski tour? My set up is a free heel on Karhu 10th Mtns so I'm not looking for any huge climbs but some climbing and...

Potential New Year's blizzard to blanket New England mountains

Just built a snowcave in the front yard here in Melrose and we're now heading out for a headlamp snowshoe at the Fells! Bring it Ullr!

    Snow on the Kanc

Ok! You guys have helped to make this thread so much fun! Enjoy your holidays and try to lighten up.

    Snow on the Kanc

Sorry should have clarified. No need to be from NH and it is way more fun than trolling the lot at the local high school or church...and way less expensive. The trees are more of the Charlie Brown variety, but they have character and you have the best story to tell all your friends. Everyone...

    Snow on the Kanc

Didn't see much on the conditions page so thought I'd ask. We're heading up to cut down our Xmas tree in the WMNF tomorrow, specifically along the Kanc and I was wondering how that area fared during the 'corker' this week. Snowshoes a must for good tree hunting? As an aside if you have not...

A Real Corker Coming This Week?

Started as rain here in Melrose, got about an inch of snow and now it's back to rain. I can take it because it's dumping up north...we'll get ours hopefully next month!

A Real Corker Coming This Week?

Heard there may be more coming this weekend too? Anyone have some beta on that one?
