I'll be turning 48 in June, so my goal for the summer is to see how many of the NH48 I can do while I'm 48. Considering the shape I'm in it is doubtful that I will get to too many of them, but the challenge is inspiring me to workout more. So, we will see. Jeff 0/48@48

I used to be a tip toe-er, but I have seen the light and now plow right through mud. And since my shoes aren't waterproof the mud washing right in and then right back out again. As long as it isn't really cold, it feels kind of nice!

I actually just wear regular running shoes, which have always worked for me on hikes. But my fear with an organized hike was that if I did convince the leader to let me go bootless, and then I ended up twisting an ankle I would ruin the hike for all the other hikers who were following the rules.
