    Franconia Ridge Pic

I just set the pic as my desktop background (is there a fee? ;) ). I love how a 'normal' pic has been turned into an epic shot. It makes the mountains look dark, mysterious, and full of adventure.

    Marco.......polo............

Are the GMRS license requirements strictly enfourced? Or is it one of those "you will go to jail if you rip the tag off the pillow"? If I'm in the mountains and I use a GMRS channel will they send a blackhawk helicopter to take me out?

    Post Hike Depression?

Driving to the mountains I have rock music blaring, I'm singing at the top of my lungs, making a darned fool of myself. Driving away from the mountains there is an eerie silence in the truck and an overall grumpy feeling. The BEST part of any hiking trip is two-three weeks before the trip...

    Montrail Trail Runner Question!

Howdy all! I'm in the market for a new set of trail running shoes. Doing a search of the site I have seen some good comments about the Montrail brand. I am thinking of either the Montrail Mountain Mist XCR Trail-Running or the Montrail Hurricane Ridge XCR Trail-Running . Since I live far...

    Nascar This Weekend

I got stuck in a NASCAR traffic hell in Bristol, Tennessee one year while going to the Smokies. I didn't see one sober driver for 2 hours. Be safe out there kids.

    Which VFTT most often seen?

Lord Voldemort made a movie about hiking? Creepy. Mt. Le Conte in the Smokies 27 times. I'm getting close to the all time record for the mountain (Ed Wright 1,297 round trips as of 9-1-05) ;) Wasn't there a guy who climbed Monadnock every day for a decade (or so)straight?
