Trail Conditions: Well-packed, hard crust on top of a couple feet of snow near the bottom. Surface just got harder and icier further up the trail.

Equipment: Our group of four wore a combination of snowshoes (for traction; not needed for staying on top of the snow), Stabilicers, and crampons. Crampons were probably the best choice and essential for the last 100 feet of vertical at the summit which was extremely icy.

Comments: A beautiful day with warm temps (30's), good views, and good friends (Mike, Mike, Z, and me). Hiking time was approximately 3 hours up and 2 hours down. Other than the summit, the section by the falls was the steepest and iciest with the most potential for taking a bad fall. If we had known the trail better, we probably would have avoided the loop to the falls.
